Introduction

With the advancement in communication technology Content Security is becoming an important issue. Content provider wants to control the content access. When thinking about securing your digital content, there are mainly three types of content securty is provided, CAS,CP and DRM.

Cryptography

Cryptography refers to the general technology of encrypting data, so as to make it unreadable to anybody other than the recipients of the data.

CAS- Conditional Access System

CAS (Conditional Access System) is just for decision making when the stream should be play or not at the subscriber requested. So, CA decides all about just display or not the requested stream just after the subscriber changes channel

CP- Copy Protection

CP? (Copy Protection) controls only when the user request copy to other storage, read and conversion via other CODEC, or re-transferring to other networked location. Sometimes it protect even from the Analog Hole

DRM-Digital Rights Management

DRM (Digital Rights Management) refers to an umbrella of technologies used for managing the life cycle of digital content. Ideally, therefore DRM must enable control at all stages of content creation, modification and usage. So, DRM can manage the given media say, on its conversion to another CODEC's output format, edit some part or all of the given media, re-distribute to other device(s) or to other users, control its playing time or duration, transfer the playing rights to other users and so on.
